#3.FOEL GOCH,ARENIG'S.7-1-12.

With Julie feeling better after her bout of flu and her eye problem i decided on a small walk to aid her fitness before i take her on longer/higher walk's.She hadn't walked  Foel Goch before so i drove us to Llangwm on a glorious sunny morning and we were walking by 9.30.I had walked Foel Goch by 2 different routes so decided on a third different one.I decided to walk up the Cemig Valley to the bwlch between Foel Goch and Orddu.Leaving the village we turned up the valley near the Capel to get our first decent view up to Foel Goch.

We left the lane and headed steeply up the north east flank.

Gaining height i looked back down to Llangwm to see a pocket of sun lighting up the village. On the left is the property of Ceseilgwm and it's small lake.

Mwddl-eithin bathed in sun across the valley.

Looking back down the Cemig Valley from the bwlch.

Julie by the first of the many stones that mark the boundary between Llangwm and Llanfor.

Most of the mountain ranges were clear of cloud but gaining height the bigger Arenig's and Aran's had a covering of cloud on their summit's.Nearing Foel Goch's summit we could see Llyn Brenig,Celyn and Llyn Tegid.Below looking across to the Berwyn's.

And across to Garn Prys were i stood yesterday.

Julie at the summit of Foel Goch.

It had been warm on the ascent and we were walking in our fleeces but on the summit it was very cold and quite windy and we had to put our coat, gloves and hat on.We found some shelter 50 metres away and stopped for a quick break before heading across to Garnedd Fawr.

From here we headed down to Bwlch y Greigwen seen below.

Here we went through a gate to pick up a track that lead's past Rhyd Yr Ewig.

We walked through the farm of Aeddren-isaf and stopped soon after to take our coat's,gloves and hat's off as in the shelter it was quite warm.At the T-junction near Henblas we turned right and walked back to Llangwm.I didn't take any photo's of the 2 mountain's we had crossed as the sun was directly in my eyes, but it was a lovely view back up the them. This is my third walk this year and i haven't seen another walker on the mountain's,except for my walking friend's.Today we walked 6.5 miles with 1,450 feet of ascent.

MILEAGE     22
